Due to its mild toxicity and pleasant odor, it is a promising environmentally friendly solvent. It is used in industrial/household cleaner formulations with high safety and is recognized by many developed countries, especially Japan. The evaporation rate is similar to that of 2-Butoxy ethanol and is a very good substitute for the latter. There are a wide range of uses in coatings, cleaning agents, inks, leather and more. In the process of dye dissolution, it can be used to replace alcoholic solvent and is a good coupling agent. In addition, the 1-butoxypropan-2-ol series can also be used as coalescents for waterborne coatings, photoresist, PS plate cleaning, printing, electronic chemicals, jet fuel additives (water repellants), extractants and high boiling point solvents.
